TRANSiTION project

Project Details:

  • Duration: March 2023 – March 2025 (24 months)
  • Funding: Co-funded by the European Union under the EU4Health programme 2021-2027
  • Partners: 25 partner organisations from 14 member states
  • Objective: Enhancing HCPs’ digital skills for safe, effective use and adoption of new technologies.

The TRANSiTION project is developing an advanced education programme for healthcare professionals and non-clinical staff (i.e. health managers), which will equip them with digital skills needed to exchange information more efficiently and effectively with patients and other professionals. The project commenced by assessing and mapping the current digital skills and has engaged directly with stakeholders to identify their specific needs. This will enable and facilitate professionals and non-clinical staff to adopt new digital tools and integrate them into their everyday practices enabling a smoother digital transition.

Led by the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT), the project collaborates with various organisations and uses a problem-solving, teamwork approach to enhance competencies.

TRANSiTION has a consortium of 25 partners from 14 member states with expertise in professional development and training programmes in the healthcare sector.

IOCN’s role in TRANSiTION
IOCN plays a pivotal role in Work Package 5 (WP5) by facilitating the training and piloting efforts of the TRANSiTION project. As a central partner, IOCN undertakes comprehensive assessments of cancer center needs to ensure alignment with TRANSiTION’s objectives. The institute contributes to establishing eligibility criteria for both trainees and centers participating in the program, ensuring that the initiative reaches the most suitable candidates. Additionally, IOCN oversees the selection of trainers for clinical and non-clinical professional training, leveraging its expertise to enhance capacity-building in oncology care. Through these efforts, IOCN supports the development of a robust training framework that empowers healthcare professionals and accelerates the adoption of innovative practices in cancer care across Europe.
